Lemon Oil has a fresh, clean scent and has been well researched as a super germ eradicator! This one, too, was introduced to me by my massage therapist mom, who regularly supplies me with large bottles to clean my house with (and with a husband and four growing boys, I *need* it!)
But it is also useful in skin care. It is proven to help with acne, and also for lightening the skin. There is some proof that it actually reduces the melatonin content in skin, and if you are suffering from “blotchy skin” this can be helpful.
Top Ten uses:
1. Cleaning. It is a great antiseptic
2. Skin care. Use diluted on skin to reduce acne
3. Mood enhancer. Sprayed or used in a diffuser, it can relax you and make you happy!
4. Mixed with olive oil, it can help clean wood
5. As a natural deodorant
6. As an antibacterial. This can be useful for cleaning kitchens, but also to disinfect the room of a sick child (or adult)
7. To deter insects…peppermint is my oil of choice for this, but this works too!
8. Taken internally it can cleanse the liver and boost the immune system (Always be cautious taking any essential oil internally…in this case, using lemon juice is a great idea, or find a great aromatherapist to help out with dosages)
9. As a hair rinse, it can lighten hair and also bring out shine
10. Refreshing!
