Mandarin Essential Oil
Mandarin Oil: The Children’s Oil
Mandarin Oil is known in France as the children’s oil because it is mild enough for children. This is the oil to reach for (well diluted) to calm you and your little ones when they need to feel uplifted but relaxed at the same time. The feeling usually gotten from this oil is warm and relaxing. I like this oil for when I or a child is feeling kind of afraid or insecure.
Now, as far as I know, there are no formal studies about whether or not mandarin will make you feel this way, but when you smell it, I defy you to say there isn’t a kind of sweet, everything’s going to be all right kind of scent there.
It is expressed from the peel of the mandarin orange, that small Asian orange sometimes called the Christmas orange.
The top uses for mandarin essential oil are:
1. To calm children (used really well diluted)
2. In a tummy massage, can help digestion
3. May also help stretch marks…might work?
4. Soothing and balancing for the skin
Because mandarin is one of the 4 main “orange” oils, I have included it on this page which goes through each of the 4 “orange” oils and explains their differences. You may want to check it out, if you are confused between them. By the way, the oils are neroli, mandarin, bergamot and orange.
