Vetiver Essential Oil
Sometimes seen spelled vetivert this is an earthy, grounding scent that will sooth your weary soul. It has a masculine scent that could be considered to be an aphrodisiac, perhaps for men. There isn’t enough evidence for me to have included this one in my list of aphrodisiacs, but some people say it is so.
It is derived from the deep roots of this plant, which is a type of grass well used for soil erosion. It is grown and harvested in both Haiti and India. It is one of the essential oils that is generally regarded as safe, and considered well studied and effective.
Its earthy, smokey, woodsy scent comes on a bit strong and is best if diluted. It mixes well with lavender and ylang-ylang, the combination of which may bring out its supposed aphrodisiac qualities.
Top Uses:
1. As a stress reducer, anti-anxiety
2. Aphrodisiac?
3. Perhaps useful for muscle spasms?
