Ylang-Ylang
Ylang-Ylang is the oil I consider to be my hidden gem. It has a lovely, flowery scent that just screams femininity. In my family, where I am the only female in a crowded house of four boys and my husband, I crave femininity!
This oil does not have great medicinal benefits. It is purely and unabashedly an oil for mental health. I use it for depression, insomnia, for my mature skin and, yes, as an aphrodisiac. It induces a wonderful state of well being and slight euphoria. Though this oil is not expensive, it needs to be used in small amounts: too much can cause nausea.
Top Ten uses for this oil:
1. Aphrodisiac. I am blushing to admit this, but it is true!
2. Skin Care. This is a great addition to any “mature” skin care system, but is also good for oily skin. It has a soothing effect
3. Antidepressant. In a diffuser or spray, this oil can impart a sense of well being
4. Stomach ache. As an addition to a stomachache remedy
5. Perfume. It smells heavenly
6. As a sleep aid
7. Anxiety. It can aid calming a fast heart beat
8. General Euphoria…when this is added to the home’s scent, there is a palpable air of well being and happiness
9. As an aid in motion sickness
10. An inexpensive oil used in scents like Chanel #5…
